World Breast Feeding Week

Chhimeki Sanstha Nepal conducted an interaction program on 5th August, 2016 with pregnant mothers to mark the World Breast Feeding Week in its premises. 14 women from ward no. 13 of  KMC attended the program. The interaction program was conducted with the aim of promoting exclusive breastfeeding and its importance. The theme for the 2016 World Breastfeeding Week is Breastfeeding: A key to Sustainable Development.

It also aimed to orient the pregnant mothers on the importance of exclusive breast feeding for first six months, importance of colostrum milk and right stages of breast feeding. Program Coordinator of Chhimeki, Sushila Shrestha oriented the participants on the importance of breastfeeding to pregnant mother. She also demonstrated the correct postures of breastfeeding. The participants were given Kwati soup (Sprouted beans soup) at the end of the training.
