With a continued commitment to improving maternal and child health outcomes, CSN has conducted a series of orientation programs on essential nutrition and health practices for women who are pregnant or planning pregnancy, particularly those living in informal settlements of KMC. These communities often include daily wage laborers, street vendors, construction workers, and others in temporary or informal employment, whose access to reliable healthcare information and services is limited.
The program was strategically designed to enhance participants’ knowledge in critical areas of reproductive and maternal health. The curriculum covered the principles of a balanced diet, the importance of regular health check-ups, and recommended medications during both pre-pregnancy and pregnancy stages. In addition, the orientations provided guidance on safe delivery practices and promoted healthy childbirth, empowering women to navigate their pregnancy journey safely.
To date, CSN has reached 403 women (382 pregnant and 21 planning pregnancy), providing them with vital health and nutrition knowledge for safer pregnancies.
